April Chill

Tuesday April 10, 2007 Baltimore St

Family from California, North Carolina and a lot of folks from Ohio. Chilly weather. But we braved the elements and had a good time. Group season is going to take off soon. Hoping for 5th garders!

Fun Group on Baltimore St

Baltimore St. Tuesday April 3

Again we had ideal weather for a walk. There were tons of people out and about, and many came along on the tour. A family of four from Washington State, and some nice folks from New York, North Carolina, Massachusetts. There was also a family from New Jersey with two little girls that I know had a lot of fun. I hope the picture that Mom took of me and the children came out. This was one of those nights where my storytelling was on. I heard comments after the tour like "That was awesome!" That is more rewarding than anything.

Watch Where you Stand!

Baltimore St Saturday March 31, 2007

We had some fairly nice weather Saturday night. Well over 100 people went out and after splitting the group up a few ways we went off into the comfortable March evening. Some folks from Canada came all the way down to Gettysburg to take the tour. I usually mention how I like to meet people from all across the country, this night I had to say the continent!

One of the more memorable parts of the tour was up on High St. I stopped in front of the old German Reformed Church and told the story about the phantom in the black suit that is seen walking across High Street and disappearing in the borough building parking lot. I mention in the story that the ghost walks right out of the wall of the church. Well there was this kid about 9 years old that was leaning up against the wall. When I mentioned the ghost coming out of that wall, this kid made it to the other side of the sidewalk in record time! The whole group got a laugh and I told this kid "Bet you're glad I gave you that lollipop now, aren't ya'?" He then took the pop out of his pocket and unwrapped it and began to savor the comfort that comes from candy. Great time!
